Frequently asked questions about Vehicle Wraps
What is involved in a wrap?
All wraps involve three phases. First, Signs First will get the appropriate measurements, and develope a design per your specifications. Second, the graphics will be printed and laminated to protect from abrasion and UV rays. Third, the wrap will be installed on your vehicle.
How is a wrap produced?
Your wrap will be printed on a large-format printer. This is basicly your home desk printer on steroids. The difference in the printer we use and your home desktop printer is the inks. We use a state of the art solvent ink that is designed to hold up the rigors of outdoor use. The wrap is then laminated with a vinyl laminate that helps protect against marks, abrasions, and fading.
How long will my wrap last?
That all depends on how well you take care of the wrap. The material will last 3-5 years.
Will a wrap dammage my paint?
Most factory paint jobs should be fine, as well as a quality repaint, as long as the paint has had time to cure. This "cure time" is generally 90 days. If your vehicle has been in an accident and has been repaired, there is a chance the wrap will affect the paint. When the wrap is removed it can bring the paint with it.
How long will it take to do my wrap?
Most wraps take a period of 24-48 hours to apply. This time-line will vary depending on what type of vehicle we will be wrapping.
How much will my wrap cost?
There are many variables that affect the cost of your wrap. Whether you are wrapping a small car or a full size van will impact the cost. The average price per square foot of material installed will range from $12sf - $15sf. We are geared to tailor a wrap to fit your budget.
How can I justify the cost of a wrap?
There is no more cost-effective advertising method available than a vehicle wrap.
Studies have shown that wraps are the most cost effective form of advertising available today. In a city of 50,000 a wrap can get over 8 million views per year. Obviously, in higher traffic areas, you get
more attention. Many people who get their vehicle wrapped park it outside of their business near a busy intersection for maximum exposure. A wrap works for you 24 hours a day, seven days a week and its a
one-time advertising expense.
What happens if my wrap gets dammaged?
We keep an extensive record of your wrap and keep all art on file if a re-print is ever needed.
Can I take my wrapped vehicle through a car wash?
Hand washing is recomended. Use caution to avoid spraying water directly into any seams in your wrap. Also avoid using any extremely high-pressure hoses on your wrap, particularly into and around seams. While taking your wrap through a car wash is not recommended, if you must, make sure the that the car wash is brushless.
